Professor Zuzana Diamant, MD PhD FERS
Professor Zuzana Diamant, MD PhD FERS, is pulmonologist-clinical pharmacologist, with a special interest in respiratory physiology, underlying mechanisms, biomarker & sampling methods, clinical interventions and translational asthma/allergy research. Dr Diamant holds several academic affiliations: the Depart of Clin Pharmacy & Pharmacol, Univ Med Center Groningen, Netherlands and the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Thomayer Hospital, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. She is Guest Professor at the Dept of Microbiology Immunology & Transplantation, KU Leuven, Belgium and past Guest-Professor of Asthma and Allergy Research at Skåne University Hospital in Lund, Sweden.
Dr Diamant is a pulmonary consultant on asthma patho-mechanisms and clinical interventions and has over 30 years of experience in drug development focused on asthma, chronic inflammatory airway disease and allergy. She keeps short lines with academia and has a vast international network of medical and biomedical scientists, big pharma and small biotechs as well as with CROs. In the past 20 years, she has set up and qualified 3 avant-garde respiratory research units, helped to shape and conduct several phase I/II/III drug developmental studies where she acted both as expert and principal investigator.
Dr Diamant is an internationally recognized key opinion leader, actively involved in several scientific Societies (ATS, ERS, EAACI, CSAKI/SSAKI), initiator/member of several Task Forces, and frequently invited lecturer and scientific and strategic advisor. She has coauthored over 200 peer reviewed articles (original research, reviews, expert opinions, books; H-index 46) and is/has been serving on editorial boards of 5 scientific journals in the field of respiratory medicine, allergy and pulmonary pharmacology.
